Book on Punjabi culture released

Patiala, March 31
The best way to preserve our culture is to give it the shape of poetry. This was stated by Prof Surjeet Paatar, a Punjabi writer, at a book release function organised by the department of journalism and mass communication, Punjabi University, Patiala, here yesterday.

The book, “Phulkari”, is authored by Kulmeet. Girja Shankar, a TV artist and better known as the Dhritrashtra of Mahabharata, was also present. He said in the today’s world books like that could prove helpful for the younger generation to get attached to their roots.

Dr Harjinder Walia, head of the department, welcomed the guests.
