Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.5C recorded at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 5: Weather will be mainly dry over the region. Strong surface winds are likely prevail over Haryana (including Chandigarh and Delhi), Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.

Forecast for Delhi valid until the morning of April 5: Sunny day with strong surface winds in day time. The maximum temperature will be around 32C.
