A 25-year-old teacher has slapped rape charges against a former student. Acting on the complaint, the police has booked Ashish Tomar, a resident of Sirmaur in Himachal, for allegedly raping his teacher over five years on the pretext of marrying her.

The Mohali police today recovered the decomposed body of a 38-year-old man, Suresh Kumar Yadav, a senior auditor with the audit department of the Accountant General of Haryana, Sector 33, from Siswan dam, 12 km from here on the Chandigarh-Baddi road.

Shubham tops Haryana board middle exam

The results of the middle examination conducted by the Haryana education board were declared today. The pass percentage was recorded at 61.34 per cent. The overall pass percentage of the town saw an increase by about 7 per cent. Last year the pass percentage was 54.17 per cent.

Unwillingness to respect the verdict of the labour court has spelled trouble for six recalcitrant government servants, including a divisional forest officer (DFO). The labour commissioner today ordered the prosecution of these Haryana officers in separate cases.
