25 from city make it to IIMs
Chandigarh, April 27
At least 25 students from the city, many former students of Punjab Engineering College (PEC), have made it to various Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the institutes were declared today after being delayed for several days because of the government stand on OBC quota.
More than 35 students from the city had got a call for group discussions and interviews early this year. At least 20 students from the city have been selected in at least one of the six IIMs. The results of the IIMs in Ahmedabad and Bangalore are still trickling in.

I took a lot of mock tests and kept company with friends who were serious in their preparation. This really helped.

I did a lot of practice tests, identified my weak points and worked on them. Success is a combination of hard work and luck. Amneet Singh, a former student of PEC, who has been selected to the post graduate programme in Agri-Business Management programme at IIM Lucknow.

The defence in the general court martial trying a colonel for alleged misappropriation of ammunition in the Kargil sector today contended that since the court of inquiry (COI) did not blame the accused persons from the 4/8 Gorkha Rifles, documents were created after the COI was endorsed by the brigade commander to show anomalies in the ammunition.

Chandigarh Revised rates : Tata Teleservices has introduced revised rates on calling cards that facilitate easy STD and ISD calls on all Tata Indicom mobiles and walky. The revised rates offer the benefit of making STD calls as low as Rs1.50 per minute available on calling cards worth Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 300 while only Re1 per minute is chargeable on cards purchased at Rs 500 onwards. At the same time, the offer promotes an increased validity period of 60 days on all calling cards above Rs 300, said Subhash Arya, circle operating officer, Tata Teleservices. — TNS

Dr.Farooq Beg Promoting Indo-Pak ties through films

90 players given gradation certificates

12 boys selected for CFA
