They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.9°C recorded at Dholpur and Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).
