Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred in most places in Himachal Pradesh, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, at a few places in Haryana and at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Pandoh 3 and Shimla 2; Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 2; and Punjab: Hoshiarpur 1.

Temperatures: The maximum temperatures fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell appreciably in Haryana and Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, appreciably below normal in Haryana, below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.4C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 5: Rain/thndershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Isolated dust storm thunder/thunder storm is likely in Rajasthan. Isolated thunder squalls are likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers may continue in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Mainly dry weather with gradual rise in day temperature is likely in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 5: Mainly clear sky. Likely to become partly cloudy with the possibility of thundery activity towards evening. The maximum temperature will be around 39C.
