Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have been reported at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 1; Punjab: Batala 3; and east Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow 4.

Temperatures: The maximum temperatures rose markedly in Himachal Pradesh, fell markedly in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Punjab and Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, below normal in Uttarakhand and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.2°C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 6: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Isolated duststorm thunder/thunder storm is likely in the rest of the region. Isolated thunder squalls are likely in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Isolated rain/thundershowers may continue in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
