Telegram that alerted the British on the War

It was a telegraphic message that sounded the British officers and forces about the uprising on May 10, 1857.Sent to Umballa (Ambala) office by the then Major-Gen, Delhi, H. W. Barnard, the message alerted the government of Punjab about the breaking out of the War and ordered swift action before the news of Meerut and Delhi actually became common knowledge.

Power failure halts online exam
Chandigarh, May 10
An online examination for admission to engineering branches of BITS (Pilani), being held at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sector 26, here, was suspended for over an hour following a power shutdown, this evening. About 40 students taking the test waited for an hour after a technical snag led to the power cut. The three-hour long examination that began at 4.30 pm resumed again at around 8 pm.
