Excursion turns tragic
3 students drowned in Yamuna

Three students, two boys and a girl, who took coaching at A. K. Vidya Mandir in Sector 36 here, were drowned in the strong currents of the Yamuna near Nahan. They were on their way to Dehra Dun on a leisure trip.

A distraught son returns home

A distraught son today returned home. Shattered but not losing composure, Lt Col Amit Dhingra said he couldn’t believe that his parents, Maj Gen KC Dhingra and Sangeeta, had met such a gruesome end.

Cops zero in on three suspects
Panchkula, May 16
The police today claimed to have identified three persons suspected to be behind the murder of Maj Gen KC Dhingra (Retd) and his wife Sangeeta. It said their servant, Anand, was the main accused and Ajit and Rajan, hailing from West Bengal, were partners in the crime.

Judicial magistrate Atul Marya today ordered Inshika’s biological mother, Jasbir Kaur, to take back the child and nurture her. Jasbir Kaur’s DNA matched with Inshika’s and steered the case in the latter’s favour. The custody of the child was transferred from the Missionaries of Charity, Sector 23, to her parents today after Ram Lal, child’s father, filed a security bond on court directions

CAG reveals shortfalls in task of AN-32 fleet

The efficiency of operation and utilisation of the AN-32 fleet, the backbone of the IAF’s airlift capability, is poor on account of low serviceability and high percentage of aircraft of ground (AoG). Beggar killed in hit-and-run case

A pedestrian, in his fifties, was killed after being hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle. The police said the victim, Raj Kumar of Delhi, was a beggar. The accident took place at around 9:30 pm last night when he was crossing the road dividing Sectors 7 and 19.
