Polio-ridden boy to teach special children of Kargil
Chandigarh, May 17
Ashok Philamon could well have resigned to fate. But he had dreams to live -- dreams he nurtured since childhood when he could not even walk straight. As a 10-year-old he was adopted by Roshni, a Rajpura-based society for rehabilitation of the disabled, which arranged for his corrective surgery and gave him a new life. “It is time to pay back,” says Ashok, who has decided to spend his future serving the special children in Kargil.
