Girls outshine boys in Class XII exam New Delhi, May 25 The CBSE Chairman announced that overall pass percentage for girls was 85.02 per cent while the boys lagged behind with 77.37 per cent. ''The girls have done exceptionally well this year also. It has been proved yet again that girls are far more focused than boys,'' he added. The Chennai region topped with 91.39 per cent of students clearing the exam while Delhi was at the fourth position (81.93 per cent). The second slot went to Ajmer (85.18 per cent) followed by Panchkula (83.56 per cent) and Allahabad stood fifth (76.14 per cent). As many as 5,03,161 candidates, an increase of 10.71 per cent from last year, had registered for the examination conducted from March 1 to April 10. In Delhi, the pass percentage was 81.93 per cent with the girls again maintaining a lead over their male counterparts at 85.88 per cent. |
