In the Zee TV serial Kareena Kareena, she played a simple kudi from Chandigarh who comes to Mumbai to find a job. Soon enough she has two jobs — a secretary during day and a hip-hop radio jockey in her spare time. "It was a great serial," gushes Kulraj Randhawa, adding, "The best part was that we had stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Brett Lee and Navjot Sidhu on the show. " These days Kulraj is fast becoming a star herself. After earning laurels for her role in the Punjabi film Mannat opposite Jimmy Shergil, she will now be making her debut in mainstream Bollywood with Jaane Bhi Do Yarron, which is ready for release. Here she plays the lead opposite Kapil Sharma, brother of director Anil Sharma (Gadar). "I loved every minute of playing Kareena in Kareena Kareena and now I am loving doing movies," says the management graduate from Bangalore. Making of an idol It had opening ratings of 3.7, making it about the most watched show on Indian television reaching over 54 million people all over the country in its first two weeks. Indian Idol (Friday and Saturday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television) is giving viewers another treat. After accomplishing the task of selecting 123 contestants from over 25,000 across India and overseas, the judges have carefully handpicked 28 talented aspirants (14 girls and 14 boys) whose dreams now lie in the hands of viewers. The channel is now engaging the viewers with the Piano Round episodes. Such is the Idol fever that the daily soaps Ek Ladki Anjaani Sii and Virrudh have been taken off the air till June 9 to double the show time so that viewers can pick the final contestants.
