Movement of industrial goods affected, transporters worried

The impact of violence in Rajasthan is giving sleepless nights to business community heree. Inter-state import as well as export of most of the goods from the textile, engineering, jewellery and other industries has been affected. Transporters are also worried over hundreds of vehicles, which are stuck on the Rajasthan border due to restriction of movement. Decline in orders has further added to the trouble.

A renowned international wrestler, Arjun Award winner and former police inspector, Rustam-e-Hind Jagdish Bholla, who had been declared a proclaimed offender in a case registered under Sections 406 and 427 of the IPC, was arrested by the Khanna police yesterday. He had been remanded in judicial custody till June 18.

Labourer’s body found, police suspects murder

The local police has registered an FIR under Section 302 and 34 of the IPC against unknown persons for killing a migrant labourer, whose body was recovered from a deserted place along a drain near Kanganwal village near here yesterday.

Ten girl workers of a cotton mill were injured when the bus they were travelling by, collided with a mini truck at Manpur village, near here, at around 6.30 am today.

Cyclist killed in accident
Jagraon, June 4
Ajit Singh of Gag Kalan was killed near Kishanpura village when his cycle was hit by a speeding Tempo (PB-08AZ-9467). Sidhwan Bet police has registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279 of the IPC against the unidentified driver of the Tempo. No arrest has been made so far.

students excel

The students of Class XII of Jagore International Public School, Sahnewal, have performed well in their examinations. Muskan, secured first position in the school by getting 96
per cent marks in Maths. Gagandeep Kaur Bhansala secured first position in medical stream by securing 77.67 per cent marks. All the students in the school got first divisions.

Harvest of a 50-year journey

It was a poetic evening with the 'Golden Harvest', a compilation of works from the 50-year literary journey of the acclaimed author, Kewal Dheer. The evening was enlivened by the poetry recited by eminent poets like Surjit Patar, Sardar Panchi, Aziz Parihar, O P Munjal and others. M S Cheema was the compere of the programme.
