New Delhi, June 28
The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for introduction of the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Bill, 2007 in Parliament.
The proposal will provide a legislative framework for the registration and regulation of clinical establishments.
“It will not be a binding legislation as health management is a state subject. However, states could adopt it by passing a similar legislation in their respective legislatures,” information and broadcasting minister P.R. Dasmunsi said.
The aim of the Bill would be to improve the quality of health services by prescribing minimum standards for facilities and services with a view to standardising health care services, he said.
