MC wants its share up

City mayor Harjinder Kaur today demanded an increase in the share of the MC in the assigned taxes from 17 per cent to 30 per cent of the total tax revenue of the UT administration due to transfer of five villages to it, besides additional functions.

Region to have 30 more Montessori schools

The Indian National Students’ Organisation burnt an effigy of union home minister Shivraj Patil on the Panjab University campus in protest against his alleged soft stand on the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir as reported in a section of the press earlier this week.
