Militants attack Amarnath yatra, 10 hurt

Srinagar, July 21
Militants again threw a hand grenade on Amarnath-bound pilgrims today at the Pahalgam base camp, injuring at least 10 persons.

Six of the injured, two in a serious condition, were referred to Srinagar, while four others were discharged after first aid. The grenade exploded near a gurdwara. The injured have been identified as Tilak Raj of Ropar,Kuldeep Singh of Jammu, Rajinder Yadoo of Delhi, Pranab Karmokath of Bengal, Walinath Pund of Rishikesh, Opinder of Delhi, Tirlok of Doda, Gurmeet Singh of Jammu and Gurmukh Dass of Hardwar.

This is the second attack on pilgrims and the accused in both cases remain unidentified. One pilgrim and six traders were injured in a similar incident two days back when grenade was lobbed at a base camp near Baltal.
