Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir, at many places in Punjab and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Bapauli, Guhla and Tosham 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: shimla 3, Chamba, Kotkhai, Nurpur and Surgani 2 each and Arki, Chatrari, Jubbal, Kasol, Khairi and Rohru 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu AP 8, Udhampur 6, Batote 4, Banihal, Jammu, Katra and Quazigund 3 each, Bhoond and Pahalgam 2 each and Basoli, Bhaderwah, Patti and Srinagar 1 each, Punjab: Faridkot 12, Malakpur 10, Moga 5, Amritsar 4, Batala and Shahpurkandi 3 each, Kapurthala, Madhopur and Ranjitsagardam 2 each and Fazilka and Nangal 1 each, east Rajasthan: Kesarpura 11, Kushalgarh 5, Banswara, Dholpur and Sajangarh 4 each, Bhilwara, Danpur, Jhalawar, Jhalrapatan, Kanpur, Pratapgarh and Ramganjmandi 3 each, Arnod, Bhungra, Garhi, Jhadol, Kishangarh, Pirawa and Roopwas 2 each and Asnawar, Atru, Begu, Bakani, Bagidora, Baran, Badnore, Bharatpur, Gangdhar, Kachola, Girva, Nimbahera, Pachpahar, Paroli, Sallopat and Talera 1 each, west Rajasthan: Jaswantpura 7, Gudamalani and Tibi 6 each, Pilibanga 4, Gharsana, Jaisalmer, Raniwara and Sardarsahar 3 each, Dorimanna, Hanumangarh, Karanpur, Padampur, Sumerpur and Sanchore 2 each and Bagoda, Chotan, Dungargarh, Lunkaransar, Nohar 4, Raisinghnagar, Sum, Sedwa, Sujangarh and Sriganganagar 1 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Chhatnag 4, Allahabad 3, Ghazipur 2 and Fursatganj, Phaphamau and Raebareilly 1 each, west Uttar Pradesh: Jhansi 2 and Uttaranchal: Bausan and Uttarkashi 8 each, Haripur, Rishikesh and Srinagar 3 each, Joshimath 2 and Devprayag 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 9: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and south Rajasthan, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, northeast Rajasthan and southwest Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in south Rajasthan during the next 48 hours.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 9: Warm and humid day with partly cloudy sky. Possibility of thundry activity in some areas.
