Notice of motion issued: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has, on a petition filed by Dimple Miglani, resident of Radhasoami Colony here, issued a notice of motion to the Punjab government, SSP, Ferozepur, and SHO, City, for September 21. Justice L. N. Mittal in his orders said the counsel for the petitioner stated that the police authorities were not taking any action whenever the petitioner (Dimple) approached them regarding threats being extended to her and her family by private respondents. Miglani, who had spearheaded a campaign against the land mafia allegedly led by a Canada-based NRI having agricultural farm near here, is secretary of the Land Grabbing Victims Association.

Man kills 2: The district police on Saturday arrested Sukhwinder Singh of Rampur village near Fatehgarh Churian for allegedly killing his wife and brother for allegedly having illicit relations.A case under Section 302, IPC, has been registered against the accused at Sadar police station here. The accused killed his wife Paramjit Kaur (30) and brother Balwinder Singh (25) with a sharp- edged weapon late Friday evening when he saw them in an objectionable position.
