Seminar: The Dal Khalsa will hold a seminar to
discuss and analyse the condition of Sikhs in the 60 years of free
India. The seminar will be organised on August 22 in Jalandhar.

platform for discussing key issues related to Sikh community.

Pritam Singh Rahi has taken an initiative to bring to light the plight
of farmers. As many as 10 writers have been selected to put their work
together in the form of songs and poems to be included in a book.
Held: Harjeet Singh alias Jeeta of Chakri Mohalla, Bassi
Pathana, was held for selling smack. About 4 gm of smack was recovered from him. According to

Minor raped: A minor girl of Bina Heri village was kidnapped and raped by a youth, working as a labourer with a contractor of a construction company. A case was registered in this connection on Monday. Amarjit Singh kidnapped the girl from Alipur village in Amargarh block where she had come to meet her maternal uncle. The police arrested the culprit on the Amargarh-Mulabuddha road and recovered the girl.
Killed: A 12-year-old school student was crushed to death
by a roadways bus on Tuesday at the Patiala Gate of the town.

Boy dies in fire: A young boy, identified as Himmat Kumar of Gobindpur village, was burnt to death when a fire broke out in his STD PCO on Monday night. The boy was rushed to the hosipital, but he succumbed to his injuries there. According to the sources, short circuit is said to be the cause of fire. However, the dead body has been sent to the civil hospital for the post-mortem.
Man crushed: An unidentified person, reportedly under the influence of liquor, was run over by a running train near Khotrra village on Phagwara-Banga railway section on Monday night. The deceased was unable to see the approaching train while crossing the railway track.
