: A youth sustained injuries after he fell onto the tracks while getting off from a train at Ambala Cantt railway station late Tuesday night. The youth had gone to the station to help an acquaintance board Chattisgarh Express. He tried to disembark from the train after the train gained speed. He was rushed to the hospital. 


Diarrhoea death
: An 85-year-old woman reportedly died of diarrhoea at Takera village in Nalagarh subdivision last night. Seventeen of the total 90 residents of this tiny village are reportedly down with diarrhoea. To check the spread of the disease, a team of doctors reached the village today. According to Nalagarh’s block medical officer C.L. Bhardwaj, the situation was under control. 

Two killed in accidents
: The body of Sohan Lal (25) of Kamrou village under Paonta subdivision was found on the roadside at Sataun on Tuesday. According to the Paonta police, some vehicle appeared to have crushed him to death at night. The body was handed over to the deceased’s family members after a post-mortem. In another incident, Mahinder Singh, driver of a jeep (HP-17-B-0458) was killed on the spot when the vehicle rolled into a khad near Kiyari village in the Shillai area on Monday night. 

Child drowns: A four-year-old boy was feared drowned in the Giri river at Bhatrog village in Sirmaur district on Monday. Three children were reportedly playing near the river bank when Suraj suddenly slipped and fell into the river. The body of the boy had not been recovered so far.
