Pradeep Mehra is UT adviser
Pradeep Mehra Chandigarh, September 20
It is homecoming for Pradeep Mehra, a 1975 batch UT cadre officer, who has been appointed UT adviser. At present, he is chief secretary, Pondicherry. A senior official in the ministry of home affairs (MHA) confirmed the appointment.

Bar man who wouldn’t cash in on honesty

Fortyfive-year-old Ram Niwas, a bar man at Haryana Tourism’s Red Bishop here, showed exemplary honesty, returning Rs 91,000 to a customer who had left the cash behind and even declining a reward for it.

It was meant to be an ensemble of eclectic artworks sourced from the repertoire of contemporary Indian artists who have enriched domestic as well as foreign markets. And eclectic it is - sprinkled with colours from the canvases of legends like M.F. Hussain and Dhiraj Choudhary on one hand and young artists like Sanjay Bhattacharya and Siddharth on the other. Siddharth’s work was recently seen at Sotheby’s auction.

Sturdy MRF maul ITC

MRF, Chennai, thrashed ITC, Delhi, by whopping 107 runs on their maiden appearance in the 14th All-India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament at DAV School, Sector 8, here today. With the win, the team accumulated five points, including a bonus point. Batting first, MRF scored 287 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs. Openers Daniel Manohar (64) and Swapnil (30) gave a flying start to the team with 71-run partnership for the opening wicket.
