4 guns stolen:
Some unidentified persons reportedly stole four guns, live cartridges and Rs 3,000 in cash from a gun house situated on the Court Road area on Sunday night.The accused entered the gun house by breaking the backside window connected with a garage. The police has started investigations in this regard.

Wadali wows: Lakhwinder Wadali enthralled the audience with his performance at Spring Dale Senior School here. The programme, organised by Punarjyot, started with lyrics of Sufi saint Baba Bulle Shah.Popular songs like “Diva na bujhai,” “Aje raat baaki hai,” and “Mahiya tere dekhan nu,” mesmerised the audience. Lakhwinder has done MA in music and is pursuing  his Ph.D.

BATHINDA
Two bodies found:
The body of an unidentified girl was found near the Golewala river on the Bathinda-Mansa road on Tuesday. The police said no injury marks were noticed on the body. Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified man was found in a factory at Jodhpur Romana village on Tuesday. The man who appeared to be in the age group of 20-25 years, had the names Meenu, Puja and Soni engraved on his arms.

Office-bearers: The district (urban) body of the BJP has announced its executive committee members. District president (urban) Narinder Mittal announced the names of the office-bearers: Vice-presidents - Sham Lal Bansal, Harsh Sivian, Krishan Garg and Pankaj Arora; general secretary - Naveen Singla; secretaries - Inder Lal, Kultar Singh, Suman Gupta and Jagdev Singh; and treasurer - Ved Vyas. Eighteen party workers have been nominated to the executive committee.

Exhibition: The two-day science exhibition hosted by R.B. DAV Public School concluded on Tuesday.The Senior Secondary School, Nathana, and Govt Girls Senior Secondary School, Goniyana Mandi, bagged prizes for water management and food adulteration projects. Students of 61 schools participated.

Car catches fire: An Indica car caught fire outside the Mini Secretariat here on Tuesday. According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place at around 12 noon, when the car, which was parked in the no-parking zone, was engulfed by flames after the garbage dump there caught fire. Passers-by doused the flames.

PATHANKOT
Arrested: The police has arrested Sunil Kumar of Pakhowal village and Rajesh Kumar of Nawan Tok village for duping several youths on the pretext of sending them abroad.District police chief Lok Nath Angra said here on Tuesday that Varinder Singh and Tarsem Singh had lodged a complaint that both accused had taken Rs 8 lakh from them for sending them abroad.

Four held: The district police has arrested four persons under the Excise Act.The police chief said on Tuesday that they had been identified as Sonu, Ashwani Kumar, Chand and Karnail Chand.

Director Personnels of Punjab State Electricity Board has promoted 15 Metre Readers of Zone-D to Metre inspectors with immediate effect. The promotion orders have been circulated to the concerned offices.
