seriously planning to convene a brief session of Parliament
next month ahead of Gujarat assembly elections to meet the

Benazir
barred from leaving Pak Islamabad,
October 23
Pakistan has put former
prime minister Benazir Bhutto on the Exit Control List (ECL),
banning her from leaving the country. Benazir’s spokesman
Farhatullah Babar said the Pakistan People’s Party, which
she heads, had written to the Interior Ministry to remove
her name from the ECL.

Fire

injured, 40 of them seriously, when a fire broke out in a remote
