Metro rail project commissioned

The MC has finally commissioned the Metro rail project to a company. The Punjab government had recently awarded work for the preparation of the detailed project report for commissioning the Metro rail system for the city to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The District and Sessions Judge G K Rai said a state level lok-adalat would be held at district courts complex on November 17. The lok-adalat would be presided over by the chairman of the state legal services authority, Justice Mehtab Singh Gill, Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Students of the Khalsa College for Women won 31 prizes in various events at the recently concluded youth festival at the Ramgharia College for Women. The college bagged 15 first prizes, six second prizes and 10 third prizes in various events. In some of the categories, the students made a clean sweep by winning majority of the prizes.

Ludhiana district girls under-XI team who participated for the first time in the state championship Kabaddi bagged gold defeating their rival district Mansa under-XI in the final held at Mohali. Harman Rani of Khanzarwal was the captain of the team. The players were selected from government primary schools of Sidhwan Kalan, Bhundri, Hans Kalan, Cheema and Khanzarwal.
