The Tribune to launch Jammu Edition on December 10

As one of the most trusted newspapers, The Tribune has been serving the readers in the entire north-western India. We already have editions from Chandigarh, New Delhi, Jalandhar and Bathinda, besides editions for Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

In another major step forward, we are launching The Tribune’s edition from Jammu on Monday, December 10, 2007.

The Jammu edition will meet a long-felt need of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as it seeks to serve the readers in all the three regions of the state – Jammu, the Valley and Ladakh.

The edition will have news about major national and international developments, particularly about South Asian countries. As in other editions, it will also carry articles and columns by eminent commentators who regularly write for The Tribune.

The Tribune’s main concern will be the problems of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in spheres where they come into contact with the administration. The Tribune believes that Jammu and Kashmir should develop as speedily as those states which are already surging ahead on the path of progress. We are sure Jammu and Kashmir, despite its social, political and economic problems, can perform extraordinarily well in this regard.

We have invited the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, to launch the edition at a function at the Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University, on Monday next.

— H K Dua, Editor-in-Chief
