40 barge into lawyer’s Sec 8 house
Four booked for trespass

In an alleged attempt at "forcible possession" of a portion of a Sector 8 residence of a Punjab and Haryana High Court advocate, at least "40 persons" led by a “human rights” activist today reportedly barged into the house and broke open the locks on the first floor. The possession was restored after the police intervened.

More houses will be constructed for the judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Sector 19 here. Ten kanals of land has been identified for the purpose.

Admitted to PGI in critical condition

Rekha Punia, 34, a reporter with Siti Channel, allegedly attempted suicide at her Sector 35 residence here this morning by consuming poison. She is battling for life at the PGI, where the doctors termed her condition as “critical”.

Nickel sheets stolen from factory

“The Air Hostess Academy (AHA) will be expanding operations in the city,” said Sapna Gupta, CEO, AHA, on a visit to the city today. Talking to The Tribune, she stated that the flagship company, started in 1997, was the first institute in the country that began offering a well-designed and comprehensive training curriculum for the entire service sector, especially the aviation and hospitality sectors, even when there were no sign of the boom in the sector.

With his fine knock of 76, Rameez Khan steered the Madhya Pradesh team to get a 30-run lead in the first innings against Gujarat in the All-India U-19 (Plate Group) Cricket Championship for Cooch Bihar Trophy at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, here today. MP put on 245 all out in 92 overs while in the second innings, Gujarat lost four wickets for 58 for 4 at the end of the third day’s play.
