The Punjab government will launch a comprehensive drive with the involvement of NGOs and educational institutions to educate the masses about the serious repercussions of the menace of female foeticide in society. 3 nabbed for harassing journalist
Ludhiana, December 10
Eight months after, the city police has nabbed three youth for harassing a journalist. The Sarabha Nagar police managed to nab Malkit Singh, a resident of Passian village, near Jalandhar, along with his two other accomplice, for allegedly harassing a journalist of an English daily.

Gadvasu gets Rs 60 lakh for breeding Beetal goats

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Government of India, has sanctioned Rs 60 lakh grant to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Gadvasu) here for creating facilities for the conservation and improvement of Beetal goats as the Centrally-sponsored scheme for the conservation of threatened breeds of goats.

Students visit Pinjore heritage festival

Ivanna Institute of Fashion Technology organised a visit of its students to Heritage Festival at Yadvindra Gardens, Pinjore, yesterday. The tour was organised for the students undertaking their graduation and post-graduation in PTU’s fashion technology courses, offered at the institute. Students studied the varied products on display.

A five-day yoga camp organised by the Pitanjali Yog Samiti for faculty members of the Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology concluded. Yoga instructors Veena, Krishan Lal Gupta, Darshan Singh, Prem, and Sukhwinder Singh from the samiti (Ludhiana district) were the resource persons.
