Hockey stadium in for makeover
Ludhiana, December 22
Pirthipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium will soon adorn a new look as Punjab sports director Pargat Singh has ordered a major structural modification there.
The modifications will be made to make the stadium people-friendly.

Students take part in sports meets

A large number of boys and girls took part in various competitions on the opening day of the annual sports meet of New Senior Secondary School, Sarabha Nagar and Civil Lines branches, here today.
School principal Rajesh Prashar inaugurated the meet.

Muktsar prevail over Moga
Ludhiana, December 22
Muktsar waged a spirited battle and prevailed over Moga by a solitary goal in an u-16 match of the Punjab Hockey League for boys being organised by the Punjab Sports Department at the Prithipal Singh Memorial Astroturf Stadium on the PAU campus here today.

The following were selected to represent Punjab in the twenty20 national championship, scheduled to be held at Bhubaneswar from December 26 to 29, on the conclusion of the 10-day coaching camp here.

Pranav Chopra and Raj Kumar of the Ludhiana Badminton Academy (LBA) helped Punjab enter semifinals in the Junior National Championship (team event) currently being held at Mellore in Andhra Pradesh.
Softball meet from today

The 15th edition of the Senior Punjab State Softball Championship for men and women will be held at Guru Nanak Stadium and Ramgarhia Girls College, Miller
Ganj, on December 23 and 24, according to P.N. Passi, honorary secretary, Punjab Softball Association. Probables for the Punjab squads for the forthcoming national meet will be picked from the tournament.
