Jaipur, January 9
In less than a month after her government’s ouster in Rajashtan, a district court has ordered registration of an FIR against the former Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje in connection with the controversial Deen Dayal Trust land controversy.

According to information, a Chief Judicial Magistrate in Jaipur directed Gandhi Nagar police station to register an FIR against the trustees, including Raje, Jaipur Mayor Ashok Parnami and a couple of other MLAs, for allegedly acquiring government land measuring 7,693 sq mts at a mere 5 per cent of the market rate.

The orders came more than two weeks after the public prosecutor concerned in the case had given a clean chit to the trustees. However, the Gehlot government later filed a revised reply. It is alleged that the trust got the land in prime C-scheme right in the heart of the city at throw away prices. The trust was allotted the land at a mere Rs 562.5 per metre even as the market rate was about Rs 100,000 per sq metre.

Other accused in the case include Jaipur Development Authority president and Pt Din Dayal Upadhaya Trust treasurer Ajay Pal Singh, Pratap Singh Singhvi, Satya Narain Gupta, Gulab Chand Kataria, Indresh Kumar, PC Gupta, Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Lalit Kishor Chaturvedi.
