The multi-purpose parking at Mata Rani Chowk in Zone-A of the Municipal Corporation was auctioned for Rs 21,05,000 here today.
The auction, which was scheduled at 3 pm, was delayed as usual, and the MC officials were witnessed collecting earnest money of Rs 2 lakh from the bidders till 3.30 pm.
Finally, the auction started at around 4 pm and witnessed no competition at all, as out of 13 bidders, who had come to take the site for lease of one year, only four persons took part in bidding.

Mindless parking creates troubles for cops
Even as the vehicular traffic in the city is bursting at its seams, chaotic condition on roads is further compounded by haphazard and unmindful parking on the both sides of busy roads.
It seems that a majority of the drivers are devoid of any road sense as they park their vehicles at any vacant place on the road, in front of a showroom or a commercial establishment, and even at times in the middle of the road, without giving any thought to the inconvenience caused to other road users.
