Srinagar/Jammu, January 22
The police has nabbed two Harkat-ul Mujahideen militants, Aijaz Ahmad Lone and Hassan Mir, in Tral (south Kashmir) and seized Chinese grenades from them.

Police sources said Lone and Mir were working as overground workers, sympathisers who helped active militants with logistical and other required support but did not indulge in killing themselves. Lone hailed from Kulgam and Mir from Anantnagh.

Despite pressure on militants, officials said Tral remained the most favoured hideout of militants due to its topography.

The security forces on Thursday busted two hideouts and seized 25 kg of improvised explosive devices (IED) in Rajouri district.

On a tipoff, troops launched a search operation in the Badal forest area of Rajouri district and seized an IED of 10 kg RDX along with two detonators, one rifle, 153 rounds of AK rifle and some ration from a hideout here, defence sources said.

Another hideout was busted by troops where they seized an IED of 15 kg RDX, 75 pika rounds and six grenades from the Budhal forest area in the same district, they said.
