German rape trial quickest in city
Chandigarh, January 27
In what can be termed as one of the quickest rape trial of the city, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Raj Shekhar Attri today convicted five accused of raping the German tourist within four months of the crime.

CTU to improve grid system

The CTU proposes to rationalise the frequency of buses on various routes in order to improve the grid system. Oldest of old cases HC’s priority

The oldest of the old cases in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh will now be taken up on priority basis in all subordinate courts. For, the high court has asked each court to identify 200 “oldest” criminal matters, and as many number of civil cases, so that these could be disposed of expeditiously.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which has been formed on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, today made six arrests in the Pre-Medical Entrance Test (PMET) scam by arresting five undeserving candidates who had made imposters sit in their place in the PMET examination, besides one middleman.
