Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Haryana, UP and Uttarakhand, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 05.4C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 29: Rain/snow is likely to occur at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. After 24 hours weather will be mainly dry over the region.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Mainly dry weather.
