Puja celebrations turn sour
2 drown in Satluj; 2 killed in accident

The Saraswati Puja celebrations turned tragic as two youths, who had gone into the Satluj for the immersion of the goddess’ idol, drowned into the river last evening. After conducting an overnight search, there bodies were spotted floating in the river by the Phillaur police this afternoon.

Transporters raze boundary wall

Dua’s talk on Feb 6

HK Dua, Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune Group of Newspapers, will deliver a talk on ”State of the Nation” on February 6 at Government College for Women. The talk is being organised by Jago, an NGO, in its awakening call to fellow citizens for the common good. Nilam Kapoor, general secretary, said the talk by the Editor at Government College for Women will be followed by a question/answer session. Kamaljeet Rattan, a veteran journalist, will initiate the discussion. A cross-section of the local intelligentsia, professionals, students and social and political activists are expected to attend the session. Harish Rai Dhanda, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, will preside over the proceedings.

Employees to continue stir till acceptance of demands

Rajat has already done modelling assignments for various brands. "It was a good experience and becoming the first runner-up at Mr Patiala contest gave a boost to my career," he added.
