Jaipur, February 15
IPL Chairman and BCCI vice-president is in more trouble just few days after it seemed he had managed good ties with the Congress government.

The Jaipur police today booked him for cheating the Jaipur bomb blast victims by not paying them Rs 6 crore compensation he had announced.

He has been charged with embezzlement. The FIR under sections 420 and 467 of IPC has been lodged in the Jyoti Nagar police station on the complaint of Sandeep Batra, convener of the Nagrik Morcha, a public organisation.

He alleged in the FIR that IPL chairman Modi claimed to have given a cheque of Rs 6 crore to the then Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. The money has not reached to the victims.

He further alleged the cheque could have been fake. Pandit Mishra, a spokesperson of the organisation, said Modi had played a joke with the blast victims.

Modi could not be reached for his comments.
