Slump costs textile industry Rs 550 crore

Twentyfive major textile companies of the country have witnessed a loss worth Rs 550.12 crore in first nine months of 2008 against a profit of Rs 294.50 crore during the corresponding period of the year 2007, thus causing a droop of 287 per cent. This was said by SP Oswal, chairman, CII national committee on textiles, here today.
