Motorcycles recovered from thieves in Ludhiana. 21 stolen vehicles found

The police has busted a four-member gang of vehicle thieves and has recovered 21 stolen vehicles from them. This is being considered as one of the major recovery haul by the police in the recent months. The accused have been identified as Prince Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Harinder Kumar and Baal Krishan, all residents of Islam Ganj.

The court of Judicial Magistrate Sandeep Jossan has convicted Udey Singh of New Abadi, Akalgarh, Ludhiana, of fraud. He was sentenced to undergo two-year imprisonment.

The deadlock between students and the management of Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College ended today with latter giving an assurance to reduce the fees by Rs 1,000. Not only this, the management also agreed to spend about Rs 2 lakh for imparting education to poor and needy students.

18 booked for attempt to murder, assault

Nine persons have been booked under Sections 307, 450, 324, 323, 148 and 149 of the IPC for allegedly trying to kill a youth and injuring three others with sharp-edged weapons, after they entered into a Punjab State Lottery booth near a bus stand yesterday afternoon.

Thieves decamp with 10 mobile sets
Raikot, February 19
An electronics shop, HS Mobile Hut owned by Hari Om, was burgled last night here. The unidentified thieves entered the shop by breaking open the side wall and decamped with 10 mobile phones worth Rs 50,000 and cash worth Rs 2,000.
