Dummy bombs miss target, fall in fields
Jagraon, March 13
Three bombs fired by Air Force bomber jets today misfired, triggering panic among villagers. As per reports available, around 9.30 am an IAF exercise was in progress at SK ranges at Sodhiwal village, about 10 km from here on the Sidhwan Bet road, when three bombs missed target and fell in the fields of Janetpura village.

April 10 last date for fresh voters
Ludhiana, March 13
Fresh voters in the city, particularly the youth, can give their names for registration till April 10, a week before the filing of the nomination papers. Eligible voters are required to fill Form 6 for the inclusion of their name in the voter list at the earliest. 

Staff crunch at election office

Staff crunch has hit the election office in this district, where more than 20 lakh voters are likely to cast their vote in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Though department officials claim to be accomplishing election work well in time, but the department seems to be over-burdened with work due to staff shortage.

Two brothers booked for killing friend

The Sudhar police has booked two persons for killing their friend. The deceased has been identified as Gurnam Singh (60) of Aitiana village.

Waiter crushed under lift

In a freak incident, a 28-year-old waiter died in the service lift of a restaurant near Fountain Chowk when his head was crushed between the lift and the door late last evening.
