Rlys to run summer special trains
Ludhiana, March 18
The Northern Railway will run special trains from April 1 to June for meeting the demand of increased passenger traffic during the summers. The summer special trains will run between Jammu Tawi-Delhi, Jammu Tawi-Varanasi, Jammu Tawi-Bandra Terminus (Mumbai), Udhampur-Delhi and Amritsar-Bandra terminus during this period.

Centre fails to keep promise on CNG filling stations in city

Educational tour to fire service station

Maple Bear Canadian Playway and Nursery School organised an educational tour to the fire service station, the Hambran road. The kids were shown the importance and working of the fire service stations and were told by fire officer how fire tenders extinguish fire. Principal Veena Aggarwal explained to the children the importance of awareness and to be cool in case of fire and they should tell their parents to adhere to the norms, which are prescribed by the fire department. In the fast paced life of today, it pains me to see hundreds stranded on the city roads very often, just because some “sobha yatra” is crossing. The occurrence is so frequent that I have got used to see stranded ambulances and relatives of sick peeping outside, virtually praying that the “sobha yatra” clears the path for traffic.

Chain fast by subordinate staff

On a call given by the Punjab Subordinate Services Federation and the Punjab/ UT Employees Joint Action Committee in all districts headquarters in Punjab, six employees sat on a chain fast for 24 hours in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office for the second day today.
