Mumbai, April 28
The mystery behind the tampering of a helicopter belonging to industrialist Anil Ambani deepened today after the man who had discovered the mischief was found dead this morning.

The body of Bharat Borge, the mechanic who had discovered the tampering of the helicopter, was found near the railway tracks near Vile Parle railway station. The police said the body was discovered early today. A letter by Borge, where he expressed fear over his safety, has also come to light. The police has termed it as an accidental death since the body was found near railway tracks.

According to the Vile Parle police station, Borge was identified by some identity cards found on his person. However, the controversy has deepened after the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group of companies have called for a probe into the death of Borge.

As per the FIR, Borge had discovered cover of the 13-seater Bell 412 helicopter loose and sounded an alarm. Subsequently, some mud and pebbles were found inside the fuel tank. Ambani and his colleagues were to fly the helicopter just hours after the discovery of the incident.

The company in charge of maintaining the chopper, Airworks Private Ltd, had filed a police complaint against some suspected employees.

At least four employees were charged with attempts to create mischief that could cause death or hurt.

Shortly after the incident, Anil Ambani’s office had blamed “business rivals” for trying to bump him off.

According to sources, the police earlier today sought the opinion of the Director General of Civil Aviation over the possible consequences of the aircraft taking off.

The pebbles and stones were also sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
