organising 263 donation camps throughout the country annually in which more than 50,000 units of blood were being donated by devotees.

Woman dies after fall from rooftop: The mother of an eight-month-old baby died this morning after falling from the rooftop of her house.
The deceased was identified as Hema Rani (25), wife of Surinder Kumar. According to Hema’s family members, she went upstairs to dry some clothes but fell from the stairs and received serious injuries.
She was rushed to the DMC, Ludhiana, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Her parents residing in Amritsar were informed and the body was kept in mortuary of the Civil Hospital.
Clash: A bus driver and a conductor of two buses fought with each other over the issue of timings last evening. Kulveer Singh, a driver with the Dhuri Bus Service, fought with another conductor. They
both received minor injuries and were rushed to the civil hospital with multiple injuries. A case in this connection has been registered.

Fire in PSEB godown: A fire broke out in the godown of the Punjab State Electricity Board at Bhai Randhi Singh Nagar here today.
According to officials of the fire department, the godown had stored around 4,000 to 5,000 gunny bags of cement and wooden planks.
The department pressed in Fire Brigade in from Haibowal to douse the flames, and within half an hour the situation was under control.
No loss of life or anyone being wounded had been reported.
Clarification:
The Ludhiana Stock Exchange in a press note here today denied any meeting in support of Manish Tewari. Rajnish Garg, a member, held the meeting in his personal capacity, the note added.

Nurses Day: The Sandhu Institute of Nursing, Mahalon, organised a seminar on “Delivering quality, serving community, nurses leading care innovations” here on Tuesday to mark International Nurses Day. Former Director, health and family welfare, Dr D.P.S. Sandhu was the chief guest. He lauded the role of nurses in serving the ailing humanity.
