Kappil Kishore has found a deep connection between fashion and astrology. He tells people which clothes will bring peace and prosperity to their lives,

A look at his profile proves that he is a fashion designer, and the presence of a double "p" in his name Kappil proves that he has a strong belief in numerology and in the science of astrology. But what comes as a surprise is that this suave and stylish person makes his clients also accept the fact that there is a deep and inherent link between astrology and fashion, and that the principles of this ancient science can define fashion for them.

He is Kappil Kishore, a lecturer at INIFD, NIFT, JD, International Polytechnic for Women and many other reputed fashion institutes. This man has combined fashion and astrology to coin a new terminology in the fashion world — Fortune Design. Kappil is also working as mentor for FIT, New York, London College of Fashion, Domas University and Milan School of Fashion.

Fashion is just not about looking good, but about feeling good, peaceful, and about spreading positive and harmonious vibes all around, believes this fashion guru, who has been into fortune designing for the past five years. He guides people with the clothes which can bring peace, prosperity and harmony to their lives. A balance of four elements of nature — fire, earth, air and water — in your ensemble can enhance your aura. Kishore’s "wearable" predictions are based on colour, fabric, metal etc. Thus, if your sun sign is Scorpio or Pisces, then you should avoid wearing red, yellow and orange colours; but if you are an Arian, then these very colours are good for you.

His fascination for astrology, which he studied in detail for about five years, put this adventurous designer on the road to fortune designing. "It was during my study of astrology that I realised a deep connection between fashion and astrology through the medium of colours. My initial predictions were based on the scientific theory of the science of astrology, but as these proved correct, my belief became all the more strong", says Kishore.

A combination of colours and zodiac signs gives a positive energy and aura to the overall persona of a person. Positive colours emit positive energy, whereas negative colours decrease the aura, and are not that beneficial to the personality of a person.

How does this work, we ask. "The 12 zodiac signs have different ruling colours, and if this combination is used, then one feels more energised.

But then isn’t fashion a dynamic and ever-changing field, and how can one put it in the straightjacket rules of colours and combinations as per the zodiac? He says that his fortune designing doesn’t limit the scope of fashion in any way, as a thorough study of the kundli and position of different planets at a particular time are used to recommend colours and fabrics. These alignments keep on changing. It is not as if you will be stuck with one type of fabric or colour for the whole of your life. The clothes will be in harmony with the stars of a person, and will add positive energy to his persona.

Kishore has designed maternity wear for expecting mothers wanting to enjoy a safe and cheerful pregnancy. He gives the example of a young mom-to-be, who was having a tough pregnancy. Kishore found the root-cause of her discomfort in her love for the black colour, which was her favourite, but was in fact causing disturbance in her aura, resulting in complications related to pregnancy. So a simple colour remedy made her journey to motherhood comfortable and happy. This concept is my copyright as no one else is doing a similar thing in the country, claims Kappil.
