More than 15 of the 69 inmates of a juvenile home in the city’s Simlapuri locality have reportedly “hidden” their actual age so that officials do not shift them to the main central jail where they would have to work like all those incarcerated there.

40 liters adulterated milk seized at Verka

About 40 litres of adulterated milk was seized by security guards manning the main gate of the Verka milk plant on the Ferozepore road while a vehicle driver tried to whisk away with the milk adulterated with water here today. Verka authorities have, however, discontinued the contract of the transporter.

Residents of the city residents preferred to remain indoors as mercury dipped further to 1.5 °C here today. The sky remained cloudy and the smog could be seen all over the industrial hub.
