Immortalised in wax

Kareena Kapoor has joined the big five at Madam Tussaud’s wax museum

The latest actor to join Madam Tussaud’s is stunning Kareena Kapoor. With her growing popularity, the world famous wax museum had been flooded with requests to have her among the all-time greats. Finally the museum agreed and asked fans to vote for the kind of look they would like. The unanimous choice was Kareena in her Chameli avatar, where she essayed the role of a street hooker.

The other famous Bollywood stars at Madam Tussaud’s are:

Amitabh Bachchan was the first Indian actor ever — and the first living Asian — to be immortalised at the wax museum.

Aishwarya Rai became the second Indian star to feature at Madam Tussaud’s more for her Miss World 1994 title and less for her acting.

When Shah Rukh Khan’s wax statue was unveiled in April 2007, he considered it the most defining moment of his life.

In January 2008, the bad boy of Bollywood, Salman Khan, joined the party at Madam Tussaud’s. He beat nine other Indian mega stars, including Madhuri Dixit and Lata Mangeshkar to win a place at the museum.

In January 2011, Hrithik Roshan’s wax figure was unveiled at London’s Madam Tussaud’s Waxwork Museum — NF
