Spineless leaders
Jaspal Bhatti

Mamata Banerjee recently tweeted that spineless leaders are on the increase. Was she happy with the fact or depressed by this data, this is not clear to me. If she looked down the line in her own party, she must have noted that her ‘yes’ men, too, are spineless. If Mamata di is talking about other parties, she must be wishing their leaders should have a strong enough spine to revolt against their leadership and follow her way of thinking.

It is a fact that in politics you need to be spineless to bend backwards or forward to please your bosses. If your spine is orthopaedically stiff you should avoid meeting your high command otherwise your movement would be marked suspicious in political circles.

Mamata wants to do serious research on spineless leaders. Perhaps, she wants a huge grant from the Centre to set up a political spine removal centre in Kolkata. Politicians from every corner of the country would reach there to get their spines removed for better prospects.

One of my cousins was bending and exercising in the gym when his spine caved in. His posture permanently became as if he was bending before you respectfully. His father, instead of taking him to a hospital, made him join a political party. He is now the vice-president of the party.
