Fruit facts
Macadamia was
academia
The original name of
macadamia nuts was "academia nuts". The name was misspelled
as "macadamia" in 1930 on labels of jars from a famous nut
trading company from Hawaii and the new name somehow stayed. These
nuts are tropical nuts and native to Australia. Though available in
India in top-end stores, their cultivation has still not been started
in India. These nuts are very good for health beacuse these nuts have
the highest amount of monounsaturated fats . These nuts also contain
calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, selenium, iron, thiamine,
riboflavin and niacin.
