case: Murder charge against 21 dropped

A Delhi court has dropped murder charge against all 21 accused in the shootout case involving liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his younger brother
Hardeep. The accused included sacked Uttarakhand minorities panel chief Sukhdev Singh
Namdhari. The court added offence of culpable homicide not
amounting to murder against the alleged main conspirator Namdhari and
his personal security officer Sachin Tyagi.

�Milan-2014� off the coast of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The 17th

Defence Research and Development Organisation will test the
�containerised� version of Agni-5 intercontinental ballistic missile
later this year, with user trials by the armed forces scheduled for the
end of the next year.
RBI
ups interest rates, lending costs may rise
New Delhi, January 28
The cost of borrowing for consumers and corporates may go up as the RBI
surprised today with a 25 basis points increase in key interest rates
unleashing, in the process, a sharply focused battle against high
consumer inflation which has been corroding household budgets. This was
an 8 for 8 policy as the RBI increased the short-term lending (repo)
rate to 8 per cent from 7.75 per cent and set a path for achieving a 8
per cent consumer inflation target by January next year.
