Mohali DSP held for graft, sacked
Mohali, March 27
DSP (City I), Mohali, Gurbans Singh Bains was today arrested on corruption charge and dismissed from service. Bains allegedly received a �hawala� consignment of Rs 40 lakh through his wife at Ludhiana yesterday. An unlicensed foreign-made Webley Scot revolver was also seized from his Patiala residence.

abstains as UN adopts resolution against Lanka
New Delhi, March 27
India today abstained from voting
on an anti-Sri Lanka resolution at the United Nations Human Right
Council (UNHRC) meeting in Geneva. The council adopted the resolution
which called for an international inquiry mechanism into human rights
violations during the armed conflict in the island.
