Poppy husk buyers from Punjab go on rampage in Rajasthan
Abohar, April 22
Hundreds of poppy husk consumers from Punjab went on rampage in Mayapuri in Sriganganagar in Rajasthan, about 40 km from Abohar, as the district administration banned the sale of the husk to non-permit holders. Government officials say there are 3,000 permit holders, but in the last few days there have been unending queues at the licensed retail outlets.

A day after a Ropar court ordered framing of charges against Punjab DGP SK Sharma and others in the kidnapping of Kuldip Singh 24 years ago, his father Ajaib Singh hopes against hope for his son�s return. The only child of Ajaib Singh and Gurmeet Kaur, 21-year-old Kuldip was kidnapped by the Punjab Police on October 24, 1990, during militancy days.
