A total of 117 constituencies across 11 states and the union territory of Puducherry will go to votes tomorrow in which over 18 crore voters will cast their votes in what will be the sixth of the nine-phase elections. A total of 2,076 candidates are in the fray.

Giriraj to surrender today; fresh EC notice to Azam

Facing arrest for his controversial statements, senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh today said that he would surrender before the court tomorrow, while the Election Commission issued a fresh notice to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for his reported objectionable remarks against the EC and circumventing a ban imposed on him from campaigning in Uttar Pradesh.

Hemkund Sahib yatra from May 25

With reconstruction, rehabilitation of the victims of the 2013 cloudburst disaster and the Char Dham yatra taking centrestage in Uttarakhand politics, Chief Minister Harish Rawat today announced that pilgrimage to Kedarnath would resume on May 4 and to Badrinath on May 5. The pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib will start from May 25.

AAP�s Jassi found guilty  of dual votes
Bathinda, April 23
The Mohali District Election Office has indicted Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the Bathinda seat and Punjabi singer Jasraj Singh Longia, also known as Jassi Jasraj, for having enrolled himself as voter at two places under different names. Jasraj faces a criminal case for dual votes.
